Hi, I Am Christie Tsang

I am a qualified speech and language therapist and graduated with a Master’s Degree from the University of Sydney in Australia. 

I have experience working for the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK. I am registered with the professional bodies Health Care Professional Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist (RCSLT).

My vision is to empower my clients and their families by giving them a voice to unlock their full potential in life.

Experience

Children

I have extensive experience working with children from 18 months to 19 years old. I worked for an 'Oustanding' National Health Service (NHS) Trust for 2 years in the UK, in a community clinic whereby I also conducted assessments and therapy with my students in their school and home environment.

As part of my university clinical placements, I trained at the Communication Disorders Treatment and Research Clinic (CDTRC) now known as the Speech Pathology Evidence-based Education in Communication, swallowing and Hearing (SPEECH)), a teaching and research facility at the University of Sydney. I also worked at the University Centre for Rural Health in NSW (Educational Research Centre) with Australian Aboriginal children. As a student, I volunteered at the Riding for the Disabled Association to do hippotherapy with children living with a disability. I also volunteered to be the play buddy of a child on the autism spectrum and followed the Son-Rise Program with him for 18 months.

Adults

As part of my speech and language therapy training, I have completed 2 adult clinical placements at the Campbelltown Hospital and the Royal Rehab Ryde in Sydney, Australia.

I have experience working in both the acute and community settings with adults presenting with the following medical conditions or acquired neurological disorders:

Skills

I adopt a holistic approach to therapy and work closely with other health professionals and educators to provide client-centered care of the highest standard. I have experience working with audiologists, dieticians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, doctors, nurses and teachers.

I also run workshops catered to empower the families and people supporting people with disabilities.
